About our group

The Natural Products & Drug Design Research Group is committed to unlocking the therapeutic potential hidden within nature’s vast chemical diversity. Our research is rooted in the belief that natural products whether derived from plants, marine organisms, or microorganisms remain one of the richest sources of novel bioactive compounds.

To achieve this, we seamlessly integrate natural product chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and computational drug design. Our workflow spans the entire discovery pipeline: from the extraction and structural characterization of natural compounds to the optimization of their pharmacological properties using structure-based drug design, molecular docking, and molecular dynamics simulations. Bioassay-guided isolation and mechanistic studies further enable us to identify promising leads with high specificity and potency against complex and drug-resistant disease targets.

Our team operates as a collaborative hub, bringing together experts in chemical biology, pharmacognosy, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical sciences. We actively foster partnerships with academic institutions, clinical researchers, and industry stakeholders to accelerate the transition from molecules to medicines. By combining cutting-edge technologies with interdisciplinary expertise, we are not only expanding the chemical space for drug discovery but also contributing to the development of safer, more effective, and sustainable therapeutics. Our mission is to turn nature’s molecular potential into real solutions for today’s toughest diseases through science-driven innovation.

Vision

To become a leading center of excellence in natural product–based drug discovery, pioneering innovative strategies that bridge the gap between nature’s molecular diversity and future therapeutics for global health challenges.
