Course Overview:

This online course provides a practical introduction to modern extraction techniques used for the isolation and separation of bioactive compounds from natural sources. Participants will learn the principles of conventional and advanced extraction methods, including solvent extraction, maceration, Soxhlet extraction, ultrasound-assisted extraction, and microwave-assisted extraction. The course also covers solvent selection, extraction optimization, sample preparation, and basic extract evaluation, enabling learners to apply appropriate extraction techniques in pharmaceutical, chemical, food, and natural product research.

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the principles and fundamentals of extraction techniques.
  • Differentiate between conventional and advanced extraction methods.
  • Select appropriate solvents and extraction conditions for different samples.
  • Perform techniques such as maceration, Soxhlet, UAE, and MAE.
  • Optimize key parameters including time, temperature, solvent ratio, and concentration.
  • Understand sample preparation and extract handling procedures.
  • Evaluate extraction efficiency and basic extract quality parameters.
  • Apply extraction techniques in pharmaceutical, natural product, food, and chemical research.

Please note: At the end of the course, you will receive an E-certificate. For more details, please visit the Policies section.
